OVER A CENTURY OF ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS
For over a century, the Onsrud family has been driven by a passion for innovation.
The Onsrud commitment to the industry started in 1915 when Oscar Onsrud and his son Rudolph invented and patented the first air-powered, high-speed spindle, revolutionizing the machine tool industry.
In 1939, virtually every WWII U.S. aircraft had parts made on Onsrud machinery. Many of those Onsrud Wing Spar Mills are still in use today cutting aluminum components! Additionally, nearly every rifle stock built by the Springfield Armory for the M1 Garand firearm was made on an Onsrud machine.
Continuing the Legacy
In 1976, building on the legacy of innovative manufacturing, Charlie Onsrud patented the Inverted Router™, raising the standard of safety and usability.
In 1994, the company began building CNC Machining Centers under the leadership of the current CEO and head of engineering, Tom Onsrud. The dedication to engineering the most advanced machining solutions is carried on today by the 4th and 5th generations of the family.
